UPDATE: "OLD BEAR" LOST IN ACTION - CAPTAIN NELSON FUNERAL ANNOUNCEMENT

The "OLD BEARS" just received word that former CGA lacrosse player Tom Nelson ('88) was posthumously promoted to Captain on 02 October 2008. His family recently announced that Captain Nelson will be buried with full military honors at Arlington National Cemetery, Washington, D.C. - at 0830 on Friday, 17 April 2009.

RECRUITING - 2009 AIM APPLICATION NOW AVAILABLE

If anyone is in discussion with high school juniors that want to attend the Coast Guard Academy - the Academy Introduction Mission (AIM) is an outstanding opportunity. Young people need to make an informed decision about applying to and attending the Coast Guard Academy. This one-week summer program gives them the chance to see if the Academy is right for them, and if they have what it takes to succeed. The application is DUE 01 April 2009. NEW UNIFORM SNEAK PREVIEW FROM LACROSSEWEAR

28DEC08 - These action photos of the new Coast Guard Academy Men's Lacrosse uniforms just arrived from LacrosseWear in Coconut Creek, FL. Special THANKS to Brandon at LacrosseWear for modeling our new gear.

The "home whites" look great and we're hoping to have photos of the "away blues" soon.

To review some of the finer details of the uniform:

• Right Sleeve: LT John M. Senyard '83 tribute graphic - initials "JMS" and Class of '83 crest

Thank you again to all the alumni, coaches, players, parents and members of the Class of '83 who helped make this possible. Again, we had to use some "regular" team funds to supplement paying the final bill - so, if you were thinking about making a contribution - now is the time...we can still use the financial support.

The uniforms should arrive at the Academy next week. Coach Ostrowski and the cadets will take an inventory and begin to distribute the game shorts to those that ordered them.
